Bookkeeper and Office Support Role
We are looking for a bookkeeper and office administrator to join our team based in Loanhead near Edinburgh. Quoceant are a small, innovative engineering company working within the offshore renewable energy sector and developing new technologies. The successful candidate will bring relevant experience in bookkeeping for small businesses, be competent in using Microsoft Office and accounting software, be well organised and flexible to support a range of administrative tasks. If successful you will become part of a friendly team based at the Salter Centre for Cleantech Innovation in Loanhead. The role is crucial to supporting the business as we grow and includes managing accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accurate financial record keeping and supporting the management team.

Tasks:

Maintain and update financial records.

Manage accounts payable, including processing invoices, reconciling statements, and ensuring timely payments.

Ensure transactions are recorded accurately in the accounting system.

Provide support in preparing management accounts.

Issue of sales invoices.

Prepare and action monthly payroll and support administration of pensions.

Undertake FPS and VAT submission to HMRC.

Management of company finance with Xero software. Administration of company schemes, insurance, company cars etc.

Support wider team by providing necessary financial documentation and information as required.

Provide support to our accountant for preparation statutory accounts and other matters as required.

Undertake office administrative tasks.
Skill and Qualities:

Strong understanding of bookkeeping for small businesses.

Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills

Proficiency in accounting software.

Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while adhering to deadlines.

Strong communication skills and ability to work well as part of a team.

A proactive approach to problem-solving with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Details:
-
Part-time position - 21 hours a week (some flexibility for less, please state on application desired hours).

Core office hours 10am to 2:30pm. Working days and times to be agreed during interview.

This is an office based post.
