Our IDCORE Research Engineer, Leigh will be presenting her work on the benefits of Quick Connection Systems at the International Conference on Ocean Energy in Melbourne next week.
You can catch her presentation on Thursday 19th September at 1.30pm in Room 217 during the Anchoring Us: Cables, Mooring and Anchoring session.
Her work will also be presented as a Technical Paper titled 'A sensitivity analysis of the impact of quick connection systems on weather downtime and campaign duration for floating offshore wind installations' and was part of a project funded with support from the Offshore Wind Growth Partnership.
Quoceant are developing the Q-Connect, a set of Quick Connection Systems suitable for the connection of moorings and electrical cabling, separately or combined. The device is was initially design for wave and tidal installations, with funding support from Wave Energy Scotland, and work is currently ongoing to adapt the system for floating offshore wind.
